PRIVATE SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS LA R.S. 17:236
Louisiana Compulsory Attendance Law R. S. 17:232

You must notify the Department of Education by the thirtieth day after your school session begins. Send only one copy of the letter, and keep a copy for your records. Your information will be maintained electronically at the Louisiana Department of Education. Include:
1. The name and address of your school
2. The number of students enrolled.
3. The date you began school this year.
4. Your name.

Students who are withdrawn from public school during the school year, or who attended public school the year before enrolling in a private school, must provide a written "notification of enrollment" within 10 days of enrollment to the public school he attended. This notification must include:   student’s legal name, date of birth, gender, and race.
